Hello Stingrays
Our ever fun Spooky Halloween meet is just around the corner. The sign up for officials is now being done online. If you already have an account, skip this next little bit....
If you don't have an Ontario Swim Officials Account, go to www.OSOA.ca and open an account. A message is sent to me to approve the account. Each account must have a unique email address to it, so if more than one family member is signing up, you will need a second account. Once approved, you are able to go to the drop down tab "meets" and then pick Spooky Halloween. From your account you are also able to take many of the Swim Officials courses including the Level 1 Timekeeper. This one is recommended as an introduction to the world of officiating. I am trying to get an "in-person" Level 1 clinic going before the meet but have not yet been able to get the all-purpose room booked. I would like to hold it on a Tuesday or Thursday when the Bronze kids are swimming.
If you do have an account, log in and go to the drop down tab "meets" and select the Spooky Halloween meet. Put your preferred spot on deck in the allotted area.
If you are currently a Level 1, consider taking some of the courses which will bring you to Level 2. This includes Stroke and Turn Judge. Many people are daunted by S/T. If you are interested but aren't sure about S/T have a chat with me. I plan on holding a Stroke and Turn clinic before the Mike Brown meet in January. Alternatively, there is the Clinic day this coming Saturday October 19th. All level clinics are being held during that day. (I'm teaching the Chief Timekeeper clinic in the afternoon).
Thanks very much for your participation. Without you, we can't put on the meets!
Siobhan
