Mike Brown Meet - 2013 Version - HUGE Success

I wanted to personally thank EVERYONE for helping make the Mike Brown Meet a huge success this weekend. As my first time in the Meet Manager position, I was a little nervous about what I was up against. However, with the help of so many people, we managed to pull off a great event! I had many compliments about the great job that our volunteers did and the fantastic food that was provided to the coaches and officials. It takes an entire team of people to put on a 3 day sporting event, and even though it may have been a bit overwhelming if it was your first time helping, I hope that you have had some fun and take some pride in being part of this swim meet. For those veterans out there, this meet couldn't have happened without you! There were many teams that told me "we just love coming to this meet!" and that is because of the effort from an entire club....so THANK YOU ALL!...Shannon

I would like to echo Shannon's sentiments. I takes a full team effort to host a meet of the size and calibre of this meet. I appreciate very much the time everyone gave to this meet. Many people were officiating for the first time. It was fantastic to see the new faces out there. There were quite a number who registered on the OSOA website for the first time and completed courses. Some completed level 2 courses in time to move to different positions on deck. Thank you all for your efforts. I commented last year on the number of families who spent the whole weekend (all 7 sessions of it!) at the pool, contributing to the smooth operation of the meet

It takes a team but that team needs a leader. Shannon did a phenomenal job keeping the rest of us on track. Lori and her team did a fabulous job of keeping us fed in good form again this year. Thank you!
