Swim Times and Standards

Did you know that you can look up your swimmer's best times online? Here is an easy way to do it. Google "Search an Athlete Swim Canada". This will take you to a page where you can fill in the information and you will be taken to the most up to date best times of your swimmer. You can then check these against the posted Regional Qualifying Times posted on the bulletin board at the pool (or from the link on the blog) to see how close your child is to qualifying for Eastern Ontario Regional's (or even higher level meets).

Communication

We are trying out a better, more efficient way to make sure that you always get a copy of the latest swim meet packages and permission forms. From now on, meet packages will be posted on the Perth Stingrays Blog under Meet Schedules/Forms/Results

If you wish to receive an email every time there is an update to the Blog, please follow the directions below.

1. Go to http://perthstingrays.blogspot.ca/ and click on “Submit” under “Follow by Email”

2. Then type in the email address that you want the message sent to when new or updated content has been posted on the blog. (You must type the text you see at the bottom for spam prevention).

Upcoming Events

May 3rd: N.E.W. Blue and White Spirit Meet 4-6 pm. This is a fun, non-official meet for all Stingrays! The coaches will organize races and relays combining all groups into teams. Afterwards, there will be pizza in the multipurpose room for all participating Stingrays. This meet is in honour of Nicole Wren, who was the epitome of "team spirit".

June 2nd: The Perth Triathlon: Traditionally, Stingray families have come out to volunteer at this triathlon as a way to acknowledge the monetary contributions from the Perth Triathlon. The bleachers, for example, were bought through funds raised by the Perth Triathlon. See the information poster for those interested in registering to compete. The official minimum age for competing is 12, since it is an open course (for the running and biking part). Stingrays who are younger may compete in the swimming portion of the triathlon (500m swim in the pool) or as part of a team. Please see Shannon Baillon at thebaillons@gmail.com for more details if you want to register a team for the Perth Tri or will be available to volunteer.

Date TBA: Team Picture: We will be announcing a date for our Team Photo (to be held sometime in May)

Date TBA: End of the Year Awards Banquet (early June--will confirm date soon!)
