Summer Lifeguard Training - City of Ottawa

The City of Ottawa is offering an exciting new program this summer! It will be an opportunity for athletes between the ages of 10-16 to earn pre-lifeguard certifications including: Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, and Standard First Aid with CPR-C. The courses will be offered as 2 week summer training camps at each of our four beaches: Britannia Beach, Mooney's Bay, Westboro Beach, and Petrie Island. In addition to the certifications the program will offer an introduction to Lifesaving Sport, as well as an opportunity for candidates to compete in a lifesaving competition!

As a fellow coach I know that it can be frustrating to have athletes missing practices and competitions to take these courses; this is why we are presenting it to competitive aquatic clubs. It is a great way for your athletes to attain the qualifications quickly, during the off season, while maintaining their fitness.

See our information pamphlet . If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me or Olga Bednarek.

Thank you so much for your time, we look forward to meeting with you in the near future!
