The EOSA Long Course championship is coming up June 7 to 9. The information package and the permission forms are now available here. This is a qualifier meet, so participant's must have met the qualifying standards (female and male). If you are unsure about the standards please contact your swimmer's coach.
This is a meet which is hosted by all of the region's clubs, ours included. In order for our swimmers to be allowed to participate, we must provide a certain number of officials/volunteers. This year, the Perth Stingrays have been assigned the job of managing the awards. It will involve putting together the medals and ribbons according to the results as they are generated. We will also be presenting the awards to the top three finishers for each event in a podium ceremony. The awards table is on deck and you will be able to watch the swimming.
We will need four volunteers in each of the afternoon sessions (the 12 & under timed finals) on all three days as well as four volunteers in each of the evening sessions (13 & over finals). There will not be a need for volunteers in any of the morning sessions as these are all heats. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board now. Each swimmer will need to have one volunteer. Two sessions are the minimum for which you should be signed up. Swimmers will not be entered into the meet without the name of the volunteer also being submitted. You may be assigned to a session in which you do not have a swimmer in order for the club to meet its obligation. Sign up early!
If you wish to also be an on deck official, you can sign up on the OSOA (Ontario Swim Officials Association) website: www.osoa.ca Please make sure that you have met the above obligation first for the awards and volunteer in a different session.
