Upcoming Events and Masters Results

Upcoming Radio Interviews
Stay tuned to Lake 88 this week as there will be several Stingrays being interviewed.
Tomorrow (Wednesday Aug 6) at 4:30 pm, Courtney Doyle will be interviewed to talk about her amazing success at the World Transplant games earlier this summer.
Then on Thursday Aug 7, Coach Rod and Bailey Andison and Olivia Ellard will be interviewed to talk about their accomplishments last month at Senior and Age Group Nationals and about the upcoming Stingrays swimming season.

Perth Fair - Volunteers needed
We still need some volunteers for the weekend of the Perth Fair (Aug 29 to Sep 1) on Saturday from 3-6 and 6-10, Sunday from 12 to 3 and 6 to 10, and Monday 12 to 3. See the schedule here. Please contact Andrea Bell at andrea.lynn.b@hotmail.com if you are able to work one of the timeslots. Older swimmers (13 and older) can count as a volunteer as long as they are actually working.

Masters Results
The group of Masters that are swimming at the World Championships in Montreal this week have had some fantastic results so far:
  • Wendy Wagland, 7th in the 800 Free
  • Kris Plant 47th in the 800 Free
  • Trent Peden also 7th in the 200 Backstroke and 12th in the 100 Free
  • Jason Schooley 20th in the 100 Free
More results coming soon!

Upcoming Swimming Distance Challenge
Many of you remember Rebekah Nischmann as one of our Assistant coaches last year and we wanted to pass along her latest challenge. She is setting out to complete a 16 km swim in the Big Rideau Lake in late August in an effort to raise money for her University of PEI Swim Team. Her fellow swim team members are completing a similar challenge this summer in PEI. Donation information will be posted soon.
