Swimmarathon Feb 22

The third annual Swimarathon will be held on Sunday Feb 22 at 10:00 at the Perth Pool. The Stingrays are once again partnering with the Rotary Club to participate in this worldwide event. The Swimarathon raises money to eradicate polio. See the information below about this horrible disease.

Please do what you can to raise some money for this cause. Attached is the official sponsorship form for Swimarathon. Sponsorship Form

Every $1 raised for this "End Polio Now" Swimarathon instantly becomes three dollars thanks to a 2-to-1 match by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation

Tax receipts will be mailed to any donor requesting one and donating at least $20. Please have the donor complete their mailing address and put a check in the Tax Receipt box if they want one. All collected monies go the Rotary Club of Perth. The Rotary Club in turn will return to the Stingrays an amount equal to whatever the Stingrays raise.

Polio.

Poliomyelitis (polio) is a crippling and potentially fatal disease that still threatens 1000’s of children in several parts of the world. The virus invades the nervous system and can cause paralysis in a matter of hours. It can strike at any age but mainly affects children under five, anywhere in the world
War/unrest in countries such as Syria, Iraq and Nigeria makes them potential polio “hot spots”.
