The Stingrays had 23 swimmers take part in the ROCS Distance and Pentathlon meet this past weekend. On Friday evening there were several swimmers who completed the 800 or 1500 races for the first time in Long Course. The Pentathlon event saw all swimmers swimming all events, the 200IM followed by 50 Fly, 50 Back, 50 Breast and 50 Free for 12 and under, or 100 Fly, Back, Breast, Free for the 13 and over swimmers. We had a range of swimmers from Bronze to Age Group participate in the Pentathlon and many best times were set. Thanks to Rod on Friday night and Audrey and Jason on Saturday, for keeping track of all the races and times. It gets quite hectic with 4 events of 50 metre races following each other!
There were individual winners named by Gender and Age Group and the Stingrays placed very well with Megan Wheeler winning the 11-12 year old girls award, and Thomas MacMillan winning the 11-12 year old boys award. Other top five finishes were Andrew Machan in 2nd and Owen Baillon in 5th place for the 11-12 year old boys. Overall, our team placed 3rd out of 10 teams. Congratulations to all the swimmers!
