Upcoming Events and Schedule

Hello everyone,
There are several events fast approaching and I wanted to keep everyone up to speed about them:

  1. Multi-Team Practice - Age Group and Senior Sunday, December 9, 2012 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. We are having the second multi-team practice for Age Group and Senior. It will be held in Perth and will be held in place of Saturday’s 6:00 – 8:00 a.m. practice. If you are unable to attend Sunday’s practice but would like to swim Saturday, please come to the 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. practice. We are hoping to show the same hospitality that Swim Ottawa showed at the November practice. With that in mind, I would ask all participating swimmers to bring 1 dozen muffins or bagels (with cream cheese, please) and 12 drinking boxes or a 2 litre carton of juice. Cups, plates, serviettes & knives (for the bagels) would go over well. Is anyone interested in acting as coordinator for the post-practice snack? We are also planning to go out for lunch at the Perth Restaurant or Peter’s Restaurant after practice. This is for those interested. We had a great time (and food) in November at Broadways.
  2. Stroke and Turn Practical Clinic - Saturday, November 8, 2012 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. The Stingrays are holding a Stroke & Turn practical clinic during practice. They would like some, or all, Senior & Age Group swimmers to be present to demonstrate the correct way to do strokes & turns and also the incorrect way so that our officials can get some “eyes on” training in preparation for the upcoming Mike Brown Meet. Click here for permission form and meet information package for more details about the Mike Brown Meet.
  3. Holiday Training Schedule - The holiday training schedule is being finalized and will be published shortly. I have tried to allow the swimmers to sleep in a little (but not much). I hope that this does not inconvenience any families that are working over the holidays. Hopefully, carpools can be arranged for those who need help getting to and from the pool during the holidays.
  4. Upcoming Gatineau Meet - The Gatineau Meet is December 14-16, 2012. There will be a regular practice on Friday, December 14. There will be a 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. practice on Saturday, December 15. There will be no practices on Monday, December 17 for Age Group & Senior. Gold will be practicing and I’m sure that Audrey would love to have anyone who didn’t go to Gatineau swim with Gold from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m..
Thank you,
